Leukemia first touched my life when my father was diagnosed with an acute form of the disease, that took his life in 1997. No one ever wants to lose a loved one, so when I had an opportunity and means to hold a fundraiser at my business, LLSC was a obvious choice. The staff at LLSC provided me with great ideas and support to make it successful and is now an annual event that myself and my staff look forward to every year. That led into participating in, "Light the Night" walk in Toronto. Such a beautiful and inspiring event has now become a annual family tradition for me and my siblings and we truly enjoy the walk and the experience. I've also had the pleasure of cheering on LLSC "Team in Training" participants at a marathon last year. It was great to see survivors and participants persevering through the challenging event. I truly enjoy helping LLSC whenever possible and would like think that every ounce of effort I put into volunteering, brings us a little closer to a world without blood cancers.
