When Rhonda decided to join Team in Training, she was curious to know more about the LLSC as well as gaining some assistance with achieving her running goals; at the time, I was interested in helping Rhonda reach her goals, but neither of us knew much about the great strides that the LLSC was making in support of blood cancer research and patients affected by this devastating disease. Rhonda reached out to the LLSC in February of 2018 and went to her first recruitment clinic in the spring, with a commitment to run her first half-marathon. When possible, I would run at weekly running events, in support of Rhonda, but didn't commit to running or fundraising at the time. I fell in love with TNT at a later date.
Team in training welcomed us both with open arms, and quickly made us part of their family, sharing great coaching advice and inspirational stories (Mission Moments), that made us both want to do more to support blood cancer research. We see that this ground-breaking research has, and will continue to make a difference, and this gives us, and many others, hope for a future without blood cancer.
The current Covid-19 pandemic has kept the team apart, but only physically, and only for now. We can't wait to get back to our weekly training sessions, with our TNT family. In the meantime, the fundraising and the battle against blood cancer continues. P.S. We always have room to welcome another new TNT family member.
Love,
Tom and Rhonda Madgett #GOTEAM
