I was diagnosed with NH Follicular lymphoma in August 2016. I thought it was some gatro problem and when then doctor told me that I had lymphoma I didin't even know it was a blood cancer. Only when he said he was going to send me to Princess Margaret I realized it was really a cancer. I was afraid specially for my kids but I realized that I have to be strong and take one day at a time and think only in the small problem ahead of me not the whole picture. Treatment is hard and you end up weak and your immune system is low but I tried to eat healthy and exercise at lease one hour every day. I trained for a half marathon after my treatment. I am not as fast as I used to be but still I can run and enjoy my training in my own limits. I try to avoid stress, I am doing more yoga and stretching exercises and read a lot. Being a survivor means that science has advanced a lot and everyday they discover different ways to beat this disease. Thanks to amazing doctors and nurses I am still alive. People admire my strength but I guess I am surrounding for amazing circle of friends and family who never hesitate to help me.
