I joined Team In Training (TNT) with my wife Melissa in September 2016, and we’re currently training and fundraising for the IRONMAN 70.3 in Mont-Tremblant. I had already completed a number of IRONMAN events and this was a great opportunity for Melissa to get back into the sport. More importantly, we have a personal connection to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada. Sadly, in June 2016, we lost Melissa’s father, Paul White, to leukemia.
Since joining TNT, we’ve set an ambitious fundraising goal of $100,000, and I will also be representing TNT at the IRONMAN World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. To support our fundraising efforts, we recently hosted the Paul White Memorial Golf Tournament at The Briars Golf Club. Paul was Superintendent at The Briars Golf Club for many years and as part of the day’s celebrations a white pine was planted in his memory.
It is an honour to race on behalf of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada in Paul’s memory. With the love and support of my family and friends, anything is possible.
