Dr. Joseph Brandwein is the professor of medicine and director of the Division of Hematology at the University of Alberta; he is a leading AML researcher in one of the world’s elite academic health sciences centres.
LLSC awarded an operating grant for his research evaluating the role of protein NMT2 and a new agent PCLX-001 in AML. His study will look to predict outcomes in AML patients who receive chemotherapy help determine which patients are less likely to be cured with chemotherapy test the effectiveness of PCLX-001 in killing leukemia cells which may lead to a new treatment for AML
