Sarah was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in May, 2010. Despite several bone marrow biopsies and three months of chemotherapy, Sarah's positive attitude never faded. Now in remission, she describes her cancer journey as a blessing in disguise, revealing that her strengths reside in the love of her family and close friends.

Matthew Cutler

Matthew first started volunteering through the First Connections program and then decided to walk with his family at Light The Night. They also run a third party fundraiser, a golf tournament where all of the proceeds raised go to their team’s goal for the Walk. Volunteering and working with the LLSC is special to Matthew as he lost his father to AML 24 years ago and this is his way of keeping his legacy alive. This also helps his young kids understand who their grandfather was.
