Supporting patients pre and post bone marrow transplant

Learn about the critical role played by the Social Worker in supporting recipients of a Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) while they manage challenges that include isolation and stress in their lives both pre and post transplantation. This session will be of interest to a wide audience and to those who are transplant recipients, are preparing for a transplant or supporting a family member or friend. The evening will include a Q & A.
Kristina Miller – BMT/Leukemia Social Worker at Vancouver General Hospital.
Kristina has worked in the Outpatient Unit at VGH for a year and a half and has recently started a new role within the LBMT providing pre-psychosocial support for pre-transplant patients and their families.
