The Fitness & Wellness team at the Canada Games Centre is pleased to offer cancer patients a pilot exercise program designed to improve muscular strength, cardiovascular endurance, energy level, and balance. This six week program will run every Monday and Wednesday from 1:00pm – 1:45pm beginning May 1, 2017 at the Canada Games Centre.
ACTIVE RX: EXERCISE & CANCER
The Canadian Cancer Society and the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology not only consider exercise safe during and after cancer treatment but also recommend participating in regular exercise due to a number of health benefits.
Under the guidance of our certified Exercise Specialists, this program is open to anyone who is pre-treatment, undergoing treatment, or post-treatment for cancer. The program will run for six weeks, twice per week, for 45 minutes. Class sizes will be very small to allow for a more individualized program in a safe and supportive group environment.
Come join us to improve your energy level, strength, mobility, and balance.
